What I Saw in ADNOC.

ADNOC is an energy company owned by Abu Dhabi Government, founded in 1971. It is one of the ten largest oil companies in the world, engaged in all phases of the oil industry. Now that the world is scrambling for clean-sustainable-environmental-friendly energy sourcing, ADNOC is taking the lead in accelerating such transformation in the region. Now, ADNOC is a leading diversified energy group, thanks to its insightful-visionary leadership.

Arguably, ADNOC is one of the least carbon-intensive producers globally, pursuing significant steps to make energy cleaner. As sources claim, ADNOC is allocating $15 billion to advance and accelerate lower-carbon solutions, which will be done through investments in new energies and decarbonization technologies to reduce carbon intensity by 25% by 2030 and enable our NetZero by 2050 ambition.

While I attended ADNOC Supplier Open Day on 16th March 2023 at Durban Auditorium (Abu Dhabi Energy Center, Abu Dhabi), I could hear some encouraging words from its VPs. Though the presentation ran for only a few minutes, the message was loud and clear – ADNOC is transforming itself into a new world where energy will be less polluting, more efficient, and much more sustainable.

As I could recollect from the session, there will be three main areas where ADNOC is going to pin its focus will be:

  1. Commitment to a more vital ESG (Environmental-Social-Governance) framework performance.
  2. Unwavering focus on 100% HSE across its value chain.
  3. Development of efficient energy systems to reduce carbon footprints.
