The Alumni Association of Engineering Colleges in Kerala (AECK) launched its 2025-26 calendar year with an engaging Cartoon Workshop titled “Doodle to Destiny” in Kuwait, organized by AECK and led by acclaimed Cartoonist Mujeeb Patla. As reported by IndiansinKuwait.com, the event attracted Indian expatriates, including engineering alumni, students, and families, to explore cartooning as a creative medium. Ms. Siby Sarah Ephrem, AECK President, delivered a warm welcome address, highlighting the role of creativity in uniting the community, while Mr. Gangaprasad, General Convenor of the Kerala Engineers Forum (KEF), AECK’s parent body, underscored the event’s importance in fostering cultural and professional growth. Mujeeb Patla, a distinguished Kerala-based cartoonist, author, and ProdCaster host, guided participants through sketching techniques and narrative-building. With a rich background, Mujeeb won the Best Budding Cartoonist Award in 2008 from the Indian Institute of Cartoonists and has earned multiple awards and recognition from the Kerala Cartoon Academy for his insightful and humorous work. His cartoons, often blending social and professional themes, have been exhibited at prestigious venues like the Lalitha Kala Academy in Kerala and internationally in Brazil in 2021. A dedicated member of the Kerala Cartoon Academy, Mujeeb has also contributed to community efforts, including caricature fundraisers for Kerala’s 2019 flood relief. His expertise made him an ideal facilitator, inspiring attendees to craft their own cartoon characters in a hands-on session that blended fun with skill-building. AECK, under KEF, is a cornerstone of Kuwait’s Indian diaspora, known for events that combine professional development with cultural engagement. The workshop provided a platform for artistic expression, resonating with the community’s Kerala heritage and fostering creativity and problem-solving skills across all ages. Covered by IndiansinKuwait.com, a platform with over 265,000 followers, the event’s success sets a vibrant tone for AECK’s 2025-26 calendar, which will feature more educational and cultural activities. With KEF’s support, AECK continues to strengthen Kuwait’s Indian community, paving the way for a year of innovation and connection through initiatives like “Doodle to Destiny.”
